Barry Oshry

Barry Oshry is a ground-breaking educator, systems theorist, author
and playwright whose mission for over forty years has been a
single-minded quest to unlock the mysteries of power and
powerlessness in organisational and social system life.

He began his work in the 1960s at Boston University and at the NTL
institute. In 1970 he created The Power Lab, the total immersion
leadership development experience that is the subject of the
prize-winning documentary, Power Lab: Living in New Hope.

He later developed The Organisation Workshop, a programme that’s
become an essential component in leadership development curricula
throughout the world. He is the author of several acclaimed books
including Seeing Systems: Unlocking the Mysteries of Organisational Life, the second edition of which was launched in 2007. His full-length
organisational theatre pieces include the musicals, ‘What a Way to
Make a Living and Hierarchy’.

‘It is easy to underestimate the power of Oshry’s work until you
have taken this workshop. You will find instant applications to
both your professional and personal life.’ Seema Malhotra, PricewaterhouseCoopers LLP
